Stan did a fantastic job completely gutting my kitchen & starting from scratch. He’s a completely lovely guy who focuses on the details, even if it means extra effort on his part. I appreciated how he organised & managed all the other professionals needed - (electricians, plumbers, plasterers, decorators, etc) ensuring everything was done in the right order. He even took the time to research different products to perfectly achieve the floor finish I was after. Always on time, clear in his communication, and tidy at the end of each day, Stan made the whole process smooth and worry-free.

I have only praise and gratitude for Stan and his skills as a carpenter. He took our plans and worked tirelessly to create practical but really well designed and stylish garden stairs, balcony, shed and storage areas. We absolutely love the finish and look. Stan worked very hard, brought the job in on time and in budget, and clearly Ioves what he does. I highly recommend Sussex Stronghold.

Stan was the ultimate professional from start to finish. Have never worked with a builder with such excellent attention to detail, pricing transparency, organisation and communication. Also genuinely a great guy and a lovely team. We were kind of sad not to have them hanging around the house after the 7 week project! Our loft conversion also looks fantastic!

I used Sussex Stronghold to convert half my garage into a utility room with access from the house via a new doorway. This was done to a good standard for a fair price and in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Sussex Stronghold.

Stan did our loft conversion, making one bedroom and a bathroom. Due to the layout of the house this involved reducing the size of one of the original bedrooms to create a hallway space for the stairs.

We are absolutely thrilled with the work! The finish is exceptional and we have had a lot of compliments about this.

Stan checked the details of the project at every stage, and was incredibly patience with my indecision when choosing tiles, flooring and blinds! He and the other members of his team were a delight to have in the house. They were very respectful of our space and left the areas where they had been working spotless at the end of each day (often much cleaner than we had left it!). They also worked during some of the hottest days on record this summer, which could not have been easy, but this did not slow them down at all!

100% recommend :)

Stan completely transformed our basement. He ripped out the kitchen that came with the house, which was more than 20 years old, and fitted a new one, custom-cutting the worktop in place. He also overboarded the ceiling, sorted all the electrics, built a cabinet, boxed in under the stairs, had the walls replastered, and sanded and refinished the floor.

What stood out most was how much he cared about the details. He was determined to get everything right, and the finish throughout is superb.
He organised all the other tradespeople for us, which took so much stress out of the process, and every one of them was a pleasure to deal with.
Stan worked hard and put in long hours, yet he was always cheerful. He never once complained about the incredibly awkward access for getting everything down into the basement.
It was genuinely delightful having him in our house for a few weeks. We've already recommended him to lots of friends, and we'll keep doing so.
